Gulf Coast of Mexico, ca. 600-800 AD. A choice standing female figure, legs apart, holding hands out at sides. She wears a full, wide skirt, and a wide draping blouse. Cream slip overall, bitumen on eyes, mouth, and part of the headdress. Red painted details and decorations. Head rattle, rear whistle. Size: 9-3/4" H. Provenance: ex. Ken Bower, Lands Beyond Gallery, NYC 1990s no 4984.
