English Cut Velvet Napoleon III Style Club Chairs, a pair

Item Details

Description

An extraordinary pair of vintage English grandmother and grandfather chairs in a Napoleon III form upholstered in a yellow cut velvet. These chairs were purchased at the Portobello Road Antiques Market in London. The chairs have a tight, tufted back and tight seat cushion. The generous arm and neck rests are also tufted. The cut velvet is a striking combination of canary and mustard yellow tones. The seats rest on four legs (turned in the front, straight in the back) atop brass casters. Please note: the grandmother chair measures about .5" - 1" smaller in all dimensions than the grandfather chair. Grandfather chairs dimensions: 39.5"H x 32"D x 32"W. Seat: 17"H x 25"D. Arm: 23"H.

Condition

Overall very good vintage condition. A few minor flaws to the fabric (see photos) but in very good structural condition.
