Bien Hoa Vietnamese ceramic pottery stoneware vase polychrome glazed and incised with images of mythical creatures amongst clouds and waves comprising a qilin, dragon, turtle, and phoenix, marked to underside. 14.25" H x 7.5" diameter. Provenance: From the collection of Le Lieu and Malcolm Browne (American, 1931-2012), the photojournalist who took the 1963 award-winning photograph of the self-immolation of Buddhist Monk Thic Quang Duc (Vietnamese, 1893-1963).
