Panorama in three parts of Talien Whan Bay [Dalian Bay]. Albumen prints, overall measuring 34x9 inches (86.4x22.9 cm.), the central panel mounted to paper 11x13 inches (27.9x33 cm.), with the title and date in ink on mount recto. July 21, 1860This image depicts the camp of the British First Division along the shore of Dalian Bay (Talien). Rows of tents in the military encampment are visible, and in the background are ships at anchor. Open to the Korea Bay in the Yellow Sea, this bay was the rendezvous point for the British fleet in the 1860 assault on China during the Second Opium War.
