This is an amazing rarity! Very few (less than 2 dozen) brass locks are known from the Cripple Creek and Colorado Springs Railroad. Original a narrow gauge line, it was later converted to standard gauge, and was known as one of the most scenic lines in the world. It was abandoned in 1920, so any artifacts from this road pre-date 1920. This brass lock is stamped CC&CSRy on the clasp The key cover sprigs back as it should. Wonderful original piece that will highlight any Colorado collection!
