A Han Chinese women's formal 'dragon coat', Qing Dynasty, circa 1860, embroidered with eight gold five clawed dragons on a chestnut silk ground, the lishui water and wave pattern is interspersed with Pekin knot peonies, the clouds are also scattered with emblems embroidered in Pekin knot as is the central motif with an auspicious canopy, 187cm cuff to cuff and 96cm helm to collarThese robes were worn with pleated skirts by the wife of a high rank Mandarin 清19世纪 褐地绣云龙纹汉女袍
