Ketterer, Black Forest, Germany, cuckoo wall clock, wooden case with front molded shield and applied carved fascia depicting an ornate hunter scene with dog, wooden dial with applied bone numerals, carved bone hands, 50 hour wood plate spring driven movement
Condition
this very unusual case style is quite rare, top right cove molding with missing edge piece, main shield front with several scattered surface abrasions and scratches, particularly on lower portion, applied carved scene with some damage to the surface on lower right region and a small missing piece behind the hunter's belt, dial with original applied bone numerals and some surface scuffs at center disk and at 6'oclock on outer ring, cuckoo door a replacement, backboard stamped probably by casemaking firm "Schwarzwalder Uhren Von Wilh. Weber Munaihst(?) der Trinkhalls", original bellow pipes and tops that have been restored with new leather, original key, bone hands are mismatched but period, pendulum a later replacement, circa 1880
