Jacques Wely (1873-1910) was a French painter known for his Impressionist and Post-Impressionist style. He was born in Paris and began his artistic studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, where he studied under the painter Fernand Cormon. He was particularly interested in painting landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes, often featuring his hometown of Paris as the subject. In the early 1900s, Wely began to experiment with a more Post-Impressionist style, incorporating more abstract forms and brighter colors into his paintings.
