Oil on board.
Initial signed DW by the known British gateshead artist David Walker.
Subject portrait of the famous songwriter musician Johnny Cash.
Circa early 21st century dated 14 for 2014.
Set in a beautiful light wooden frame.
This is such a superb portrait for Johhny Cash fans & art collectors.
About the artist David Walker, he specialises in portraits, the use of colour inspires him, sometimes to leave a mark with strong pigments to enhance the natural colour and light he sees. Also to leave a mark in monotone to let the viewer imagine the light and colour that the artist sees. Colour and light are constantly changing and he strives to capture this natural magic with his brushes, pens & pencils.
John R. Cash (born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Much of Cash's music contained themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption, especially in the later stages of his career. He was known for his deep, calm bass-baritone voice, the distinctive sound of his Tennessee Three backing band characterized by train-like chugging guitar rhythms, a rebelliousness coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor, free prison concerts,and a trademark all-black stage wardrobe which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black"
