A late Victorian gold, black enamel, cushion-shape sapphire and rose-cut diamond horseshoe mourning brooch, principal sapphire estimated weight 0.25ct, reverse with personal inscription dated 27th Nov 1871, length 2.3cm, 7.2g
Condition
- Overall fair condition - Black enamel is deficient in most areas, only traces of the original enamel are visible, will require attention - Sapphires are a well matched, vivid blue hue, with good clarity - Sapphires are in good condition, with mostly small abrasions only - Diamonds are well matched and bright, in generally good condition, with a few small nicks - Personal engraving to reverse 'In Memory of Robert Thomson died 27th Nov 1871' - Clients are advised to view and inspect items before bidding and they must satisfy themselves as to the condition of every lot - For enquiries about this lot please contact David Pregun at david@kinghamsauctioneers.com
