Description
(Disney, 1954) A pencil and ink drawing of Davy Crockett, used in the first episode of the Disneyland television series. Davy Crockett was introduced to the world on October 27, 1954. by Walt Disney himself, who announces that Frontierland will present "The songs, tales, and legends of the big men who built the land." Fess Parker is introduced and while he sings "the Ballad of Davy Crockett" to the public for the first time, this artwork fills the screen to the line "Davy, Davy Crockett, Leading the Pioneers." at the 8:45 mark of the show. Presented as originally trimmed to its borders of 5.25"x4" and mounted to 12"x10" pegged artist board for the television production, the art is in fine condition, with light wear to the pegboard from production use, age, and display. An extremely rare piece of Disney Television History.
