(Japan, 1930s) A rare Japan-made celluloid wind-up toy featuring Donald and Pluto. The celluloid figure of Donald is affixed to a painted tin cart with wind-up mechanism and built-in key. The wind-up mechanism works intermittently and would benefit from a service. Both Pluto and Donald are in very good condition with some fading and loss of paint. The toy is 9" long and 4" tall. A great example of a pre-war Japanese celluloid toy and a testament to the popularity of Disney characters around the world.
