Portfolio of 12 Litho offset prints on paper,
Size: 49.5 x 34.5 cm. (19.4 x 13.5 inches)
Each print of the portfolio, front cover and rear cover are hand signed by artist in pencil and in the plate
Dedication of the artist on rear side of front cover, signed and dated 66 (1966).
The works included in the portfolio are all dated in the plate between 1963 and 1966.
The portfolio was published in 1966-67 in an edition of 500.
This porfolio is numbered 122 of 500. Each plate is also individually titled at the lower right corner of each page.
Condition : Fair condition. Light wear; light foxing to lower corner to couple of plates; light yellowing near edges
Moshe Bernstein, Painter. b. 1920, Poland. Immigrated 1948. After finishing his studies, he traveled to Warsaw to study art. In 1935 He studied at the Art Academy of Vilna until war broke out in 1939. He returned home and from there he went to Bialystok. He worked as a painter for a large manufacturing company in Saratov, Russia, after escaping the ghetto of Byalistok. After losing his family in the Holocaust, he attempted emigration to Israel. After being detained in Cyprus for two years, he arrived in Israel in 1948. He lived for several years in Kibbutz Ein Harod and there started a family. He continued his studies with the Sculptor Zeev Ben Zvi. In 1949 he presented he paintings for the first time in an exhibition of immigrant painters in Tel Aviv. Since then his works have been presented in many exhibitions, both in Israel, as well as in Europe and South America. Died in 2006.
