Note
The Danby Gate allowed entrance to Oxford's Botanic Garden. An example of the "Danby Gate" plate is in the collection of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, United Kingdom (see accession no. EA1985.10).
Condition
Danby Gate plate: some areas of loss to enamel decoration commensurate with age and use, one small hairline crack along edge, some minor spots of surface discoloration; floral plate: some areas of loss to enamel decoration on front, some fluorescence under UV light, including the perimeter of underside- revealing restoration and re-glazing to probable glaze loss and/or previous damages.
