George Condo (B.1957) is an American artist known for his distinctive figurative paintings and drawings. He was born in New Hampshire and studied at the University of Massachusetts and the Art Students League of New York. Condo's work is characterized by its twisted and distorted figures, often combining elements of abstraction and representation. He has been compared to artists such as Pablo Picasso and Francis Bacon, and his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Centre Pompidou. Condo is considered one of the most important contemporary artists working in the United States today.
