Other Notes: This equestrian portrait of Prince Balthasar Charles on horseback was originally painted circa 1636, by Diego Velazquez, one of the most prominent painters during the Spanish Golden Age.

Visual: Overall good condition. Minor dust accumulation and occasional specks of grime commensurate with age. Craquelure scattered throughout, some areas with unstable craquelure, with attendant pinhead-sized scattered pigment losses. A pea-sized area of paint loss on the figure's neck. A dime-sized pressure mark near the upper right edge.

Blacklight: No evidence of restoration. Difficult to read under heavy varnish.
