Description
(1950s) A very unusual Davy Crockett party cracker. "Christmas" crackers from the United Kingdom are a party favor that consists of a wrapped and decorated cardboard cylinder that produces a loud bang when pulled apart and releases small trinkets or toys. This example is from the height of the Crockett craze in England or possibly another commonwealth country. We can think of no truer example of ephemera, a collectible that was meant to exist for only a short time, than this Crockett cracker. Measuring 9"x1.5", the cracker is in fine condition with light wear to the edge of the Crockett emblem and fading. The cracker's contents are unknown, and cracking function is, of course, untested.
