Description
Vintage framed reproduction advertising poster "Pates Baroni", the original by Leonetto Cappiello dated 1921. Made circa 1990. Leonetto Cappiello (April 9, 1875 - February 2, 1942) was an Italian and French poster art designer and painter, who mainly lived and worked in Paris. He is now often called 'the father of modern advertising" because of his innovation in poster design. Cleverly linking products with vivid, memorable images, he produced 1,000 imaginative posters for beverages, ballet, literature, plays, travel and music halls in four decades. The bright colors, buoyant ambiance and utter enthusiasm of the harlequin in Pates Baroni effectively entice viewers to eat pasta being devoured in the poster. [Art: 47" H x 34" W; Frame: 50 1/2" H x 38" W]. In good condition.
