North America, United States & Mexico, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A collection of Americana items- a cow horn cup, a wood and cotton cord bull roarer, a leather and iron knife with a sheath, and a wood statue of a horse rider. The cup is an early 20th century souvenir from the Delaware Water Gap, a popular resort town and recreational park, one side is painted with a Native American chief in a feather headdress. The bullroarer is a simple instrument to communicate with deities and promote healing via swinging through the air, creating a humming noise, the end of the cord has a rawhide loop. The hand-made knife is a sharply pointed iron blade set into a wood and leather grip, with a matching leather sheath decorated by a fringe tip. The hand carved wood statue is sits on a square base that is signed "Tago." The man is dressed as a cowboy, boots, hat, pistol in a holster, and a collared shirt and tie. Size: 5" L x 4" W x 7.5" H (12.7 cm x 10.2 cm x 19 cm)

Pitting and chips to wood cowboy, arm repaired. Chips to horn cup rim and base. Old inventory labels on interior. Bullroarer is scorched on one end and stable pressure fissures. Heavy russet patina and oxidation on knife blade. Leather is in good condition.
