South America, Chile, Pampas region, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A short type of riding crop made from thick leather cords woven around an iron rod with 83% silver handle cap and rings adorn the length. The leather is knotted around the neck just before a flared fan shaped flapper made of silver with a punched stippled motif. The flapper consists of 2 separate silver sheets with a leather panel inside. Size: 25.75" L x 4.5" W (65.4 cm x 11.4 cm); silver quality: 83%

Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's
