Native American, Southeast or Midwest, Mississippian, ca. 900 to 1543 CE. A wonderful pottery jar boasting an elegant silhouette with a round yet stable base, a broad hip and a curved shoulder that dramatically narrows to a tubular neck and a rolled rim. The smooth exterior is enveloped in a lovely hue of ash gray that nicely complements the vessel's minimalist form. Size: 8.8" Diameter x 8.2" H (22.4 cm x 20.8 cm)

Repaired with restoration and some minor losses along visible break lines. Chip to rim and some nicks, abrasions, and scratches throughout. Areas of fire-darkening. Otherwise, very nice.
