**Originally Listed At $300**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A pair of bronze prick spurs (spurs designed to give a quick little poke - "prick" - into the side of the horse) in 2 distinct forms. The first spur has lateral 'wings' extending from an abstract avian head, and the larger had thick buttons and a lengthy spike. Dense layers of green patina have formed over both spurs. Size of largest: 1.75" L x 2.5" W (4.4 cm x 6.4 cm)

Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's
