A nice collection of 19th c. and early 20th c. prize-bindings, all with either prize labels affixed to pastedowns or stamped in gilt as prizes. 12mo to 8vo in size, all intact and Very Good. Includes: ** Froude. Short Studies on Great Subjects… in Three Volumes. London, 1877, 3 vols. Bound in full green calf with gilt to front covers, "Savernake Forest Prize Presented by The Marquess of Ailesbury." ** Froissart. Chronicles of England, France, Spain, etc. London, 1891. Bound in full calf for the Birmingham Municipal Technical Day School. ** Poetical Works of Samuel Rogers. London, 1856. Bound in full red morocco, gilt, Dublin. **** And five others, similar, 4 of which are bound in full calf (one is tree-calf), and one in red 1/2 morocco.
Condition
Nice condition overall, some minor imperfections, a few volumes with toned or faded spines. Sold as-is.
