Marylou Whitney (American, 1925-2019). An original oil painting on board. Titled, "Jump Rope." A figural landscape painted in a self taught folk art style, depicting three child figures playing a game of jump rope. Artist signature and dated to lower right MARYLOU WHITNEY 1964. The artist was a noted philanthropist and socialite, and the widow of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney (1899-1992). Brass name plate with artist name and title affixed to bottom front of frame. Additional hand written title to board verso. Presented with a fabric border in a decorative gilt wood frame.

Condition: Good overall condition with age related surface wear. Frame having average wear to edges and corners. Discoloration to fabric border. Estate fresh to the market.
