Description
Tiffany Studios rare blue "Daffodil" Art Nouveau table lamp designed by Clara Driscoll, leaded glass and bronze, the shade impressed "Tiffany Studios New York 1497", the base impressed "Tiffany Studios New York 532". Base: 28" H x 9.25" diameter at foot; shade: 8.875" H x 20.5" diameter with 4.25" opening at top. Provenance: Property from a Mount Kisco collection. Note: Clara Wolcott Driscoll (American, 1861-1944) came to New York in 1888 and graduated from the Metropolitan Museum Art School before working for Tiffany Glass Company. Driscoll headed the Women's Glasscutting Department, which grew to a team of thirty-five women later referred to as the "Tiffany Girls."
