Description
While starring together in the film 'Cleopatra' in 1962, in Italy, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton reportedly began an affair that blossomed into 'the marriage of the century' about two years later, after they both were divorced from their respective spouses. After ten years of a glamorous marriage that included legendary and copious jewelry gifts from Burton to Taylor, including the first million-dollar diamond sold in 1969, they divorced, only to briefly re-marry about a year and a half later on Oct. 10, 1975. They performed together in 11 films, including 'Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' (1966) and 'The Taming of the Shrew' (1967) as well as Noel Coward's play 'Private Lives' (1983) in New York. Elizabeth Taylor professed her love to Richard Burton in a Letter saying, "Do you realize that we shall grow old together and I know the best is yet to be! Anyway, my little big one I love you and have a deep tranquility in my heart and the tug of love is over and we are one once more. I’m happy, I hope you are." Two great signatures from one of Hollywood's All-time Great Love Story. Professionally Matted and Framed, comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators (GFA).
