Two Sixth-Plate Images of Possible Civil War Era Indians
the first being a sixth-plate ambrotype of an elderly gentleman holding a rifle by its muzzle (some emulsion losses that do not harm the subject); the second image is in a half-case and is a sixth-plate tintype of an unarmed young man wearing a federal sack coat, Billie Cowan is penciled in on the interior of the case, though we cannot prove it is the name of the sitter.
