A pair of Spanish Colonial silver-gilt swing-handled baskets
Miguel Guerra, Guatemala 1780-90, stamped GUERRA, possible mark for Antigua
Shaped circular in form, the whole gilded, an openwork structure with embossed and chased decoration featuring floral and foliate motifs, a mobile pierced handle attached, detailed with the same intricate patterns, diameter 35cm, weight total 50oz. (2)

A similar basket was part of the exhibition 'Silver from Viceregal Mexico', presented at the International Museum of Art and Science, McAllen, Texas, 2007.
