Description

James W. Carpenter Canada B: 1913 D: 1991 Two acrylic on paper landscapes. Carpenter was both a painter and poet. Born west of Nanton in 1913 he trained as a draftsman and surveyor working for Imperial Oil retiring to work full time as an artist, depicting scenes in Western Canada. Two acrylic on board scenes of Rocky Mountains. The obituary for Mr. Carpenter is on the verso of one of the pieces along with an article on him from the Calgary Herald on the second piece.
