Featured in this lot is this 1961 U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service sign featuring "Smokey's Rules" printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office. The print shows two squirrels looking at a sign that Smokey the Bear just put reading, "Smokey's Rules / Be Careful With Matches With Smokes With Any Fire / Remember - Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires" in red and black lettering. In the background, it shows Smokey putting up another sign on another tree while watching the two squirrels. The bottom of the sign reads, "U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service / Nationwide Cooperative Forest Fire Prevention Campaign Sponsored As A Public Service By American Business / Pennsylvania Department of Forests And Waters Division Of Forest Protection". The sign is set on a large cardstock and is placed in a plastic wrap. The sign shows good condition with no signs of wear or damage. The sign measures 18 3/8" L x 12 7/8" W.
