Description
Dark patina cast bronze figure of Devi seated in the half-lotus position on a single lotus flower base. The deity is depicted in her canonical multi-armed version, each wielding a weapon or attribute. The composition is finished with a flaming cusped halo and a large movable prabha with bas-reliefs vegetal decoration. According to tradition, the warrior goddess was created to fight and annihilate the demon Mahashasura. Her Shakti (strength) is increased by the attributes given to her by other deities, her weapons include indeed: Shiva’s trident, Vishnu's disc and Indra's vajra.
