Description
A cast bronze figure of the goddess Prajnaparamita which is the personification of the Prajnaparamita sutra itself. The deity depicted seated in padmasana on a double lotus flower base, she is provided with four arms whose two main hands in the gesture of doctrine (right) and in dhyanimudra (left) whilst the two secondary hands hold her main attributes: the book Prajnaparamita and a vajra (right).The composition is completed with a multi-level plinth decorated with zoomorphic figures in the corners and an openwork prabha with intertwined plant motifs, makaras and Garuda at the apex.
