Description
New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550-1292 BC.
An exquisite bronze dagger characterized by its tapering pointed blade with a raised mid-rib, which is inserted into the separately-cast hilt and attached by rivets. The hilt itself boasts an arched guard that tapers along the sides of the blade, while the openwork pommel flares to secure the oval openwork bone terminal.
