A wonderful early hand made Folk Art Shadow Box Sail Ship Diorama. It is a model of the ship Charles W Morgan. It is framed in a shadow box behind glass. Hand painted. It is framed with a three layer tramp art folk art frame. It is inscribed on both sides with old paper labels. One which reads: "Charles W Morgan, the last wooden whaling ship to leave this country. Made by Capt. P. Christiansen Essington, PA." The second label reads:"Nantucket Slded Ride When the harpoon hit the whale the mr. whale take off about 55 miles pr hour wov and many times no return and that is nantucket sled ride. made by P. Christiansen Essington, pa.". Measures with the frame 19-1/4" by 13-1/4"
