Primitive Wood Step Milking Stool, Three Legged Farm Foot Stool
What an awesome find of an example of early Americana Farm Life dates from the 1800s. The folk art look is amazing. A old country farmhouse find. Great hand made piece with three pegged legs, and the legs come through the top. Traces of green paint thruout. Round hole in seat for hanging. It has been well used over the years with many dents, chips, bruises, chippy & dribbled paint and many other flaws, but that’s what gives it charm. Still plenty strong and sturdy.
Would look lovely in the kitchen to set a large wooden bowl on to display.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
Measures approx., 10-1/4" tall.
Seat width and length is approx. 9" on one side x 12" in length on the other side.
Seat thickness 2"
Height 10-1/4"
Leg 8-1/2".
CONDITION
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. A sturdy stool with lots of character to the finish. Some paint loss. Scratches to paint on top as well as paint loss. Two legs has age cracks in length of leg as shown in photos. One leg moves but will not come out. Age cracks in seat. I have not cleaned this foot stool or altered.
