Description
This is an antique hand crafted seed harvest separator from the Shaker community of Watervliet, New York. The separator came from the South Family Farm. The provenance from the estate from which this separator came is as follows:
"My grandfather and grandmother, Leonard and Catherina Bol, originally lived on the North Shaker farm, which is now Shaker Ridge country club. My father, Anthony Bol, was born there. Leonard and Catherina bought the South Shaker Farm from, I believe, Frances Hall as trustee of The United Society of Believers called the Shakers. The purchase was made on March 30th, 1943. In later years my dad purchased the farm from his parents."
