Description
Ancient Phoenician Glass Head Bead Ca. 5th - 4th century B.C. Size 0 7/8 inch high. Dark blue paste glass, core-formed bead in the form of a stylized human head having yellow paste glass applied details and ears, and a blue-green headband. Suspension loop on top of the head. Rear portion of the applied head band is restored, a minor surface loss on the reverse, and overall surface weathering, otherwise intact. Provenance:NYC collection; Ex. Edward H.
