Description
Handed down in the family of Nettie Lorene Rupert, (b. 1882, Ohio) who lived in Japan from 1913 to 1930 as teacher and missionary, deeply involved with the Chinese (and to a lesser extent, the Korean) population of Kobe as well as the Japanese. She traveled widely, and, as an educator and, clearly, a woman of lively intelligence and vast curiousity, took copious notes. This lot comprises her postcards, brochures and photographs from her travels in Paris, Holland, England, Italy, Greece, and Germany. All are in very good to near-mint condition. Postally unused but some with notes on the back.
