Description
First quarter-18th century, walnut with pine secondary. Top with gallery edge, dovetailed overlapping drawer, base with pegged construction, boldly turned legs, shaped stretcher with center finial and five bun feet. Old worn refinishing, age cracks, added nails to drawer sides and some fading and stains. 28.5"h. 24"w. 16.5"d.
Condition
Top has slight warp and separation of molded edge as well as some added nails to hold molding, light surface scratches and stains, age split with minor putty fill (another age split shows on underside. Pegged construction. Drawer runners have sharp edges but are held with old wrought iron nails (appear to possibly be rose head). Repair at top of back leg, legs have some edge loss, underside of feet have some loss. Feet and stretcher appear to be original but finial on stretcher is replaced.
