Possibly North Carolina, early 20th century. African American face jug with red accented prominent eyes and lips with arched eyebrows and brown glaze. Bail handle. Restoration and chips. 13.5"h.Similar jugs have surfaced and sold noting these were reputedly made by a man named Mr. Nelson, from a street corner, in the 1920s, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
