Description
Rare Version 1940's National Model 500 Model Tube Amplifier S#22420 with Tweed Tolex covering. A very Attractive pre-war amplifier built by National Dodro Corporation, the top of their premier National amp line. The Model 500 was more expensive than anything Gibson, Rickenbacker or Vega offered in the same price range. Only sold for a short time as World War II put an end to commercial amplifiers for a while. The Model 500 puts out 16 watts and had a high grade Leviathan 12" speaker. Has 2 Channel inputs with volume controls. This amp is a untouched survivor in very good condition with minor scratches and scuffs. Retains its original front National emblem tag and back panel tiny brass serial number tag. Full tweed with metal back. Pots are scratchy and amp should have a pre-cautionary service maintenance. Powers up and passes audio with a great tube overdrive when turned up! An opportunity to acquire a great peice of musical history!
