Description
This historic sign has mother of pearl and turquoise inlays along the entire locomotive and shows incredible detail. The reverse paint is strong and vibrant. The mountain in the background is Pike's Peak. This sign would have hung in an executive office and was made by the Western Sandblasting Co. in Chicago. Labeled for engine number 1302 for the Rock Island Route 1008. There are only a few of these signs still in existence today. This is a fabulous example that will be hard to improve on. CONDITION: Light signs of wear, showing no restoration and tight mother of pear inlay and no flaking to the reverse paint. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (9.0). Dimensions: Frame: 99 - 1/2" x 1" x 27".
