An 8 inch cork and wood Bufflehead decoy by Winsor White of Duxbury, MA. Winsor White was a pioneer decoy collector and carver from Duxbury, who sold decoys to Doc Starr and later in his life- sold the remaining decoys to a Tennis pro, who donated them to the American Folk Art Museum in New York City. Winsor was a friend of Doc Starr's and his family. He gave a Bufflehead decoy to George Ross "Robin" Starr III as a wedding gift in 1972. Like Doc Starr, he carved a limited number of decoys and this is one example. Original paint with minor wear.
