DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a signed, limited edition book Taos Pueblo written by Mary Austin and illustrated with photographs by Ansel Adams. This is a faithful reproduction produced by the New York Graphic Society in 1977 of the original publication produced in 1930. Only 950 of this facsimile were produced. This is copy number 446 and is quarter-bound in brown leather and brown linen. The slipcase is also bound in brown linen. The book is signed by Adams on the book's colophon. The book is printed on 65-pound Natural White Cover. The original title-page Thunderbird design from the Grabhorn Press edition is reproduced from the Valenti Angelo woodcut.
CONDITION: The book is in near fine with minor wear to the top, middle, and bottom of the leather spine, see photos. No internal markings, other than Adams' signature. No previous owner's bookplate or markings. The spine and boards are square and straight. The slipcase is in very good condition with minor shelf wear and areas of toning, see photos.
