Description
An early 20th century Chinese Export silver dressing table jar, Shanghai circa 1910 by Sheng retailed by Tuck Chang Qing dynasty. Of cylindrical form with a pull off domed lid. The body and lid with embossed decoration of chrysanthemums against a textured ground. The lid with a circular cartouche engraved with initials EKW in cypher. Gilt interior. Marked underneath retailer’s mark TC and artisan mark ?(SHENG). Together with a clothes brush with embossed decoration of a trailing Chinese dragon amidst clouds, retailed by Luen Hing, marked with 90, LH and an artisan mark. (2) Diameter – 8.5 cm / 3.4 inches Weight – 180 grams / 5.79 ozt
