BIOGRAPHY:
Anne Carey Bradley studied at The School of Fine & Applied Art in Portland Maine and with George Elmer Browne, Henry Poore, and Michel Jacobs. She was known in Fryeburg for always riding her bicycle wearing baggy bloomers and a large hat with her art supplies strapped to her back. She started her art lessons at a very young age and painted all day, every day because her family was well-to-do. She was born in Fryeburg in 1884 and died in 1956. She was a member of The Society of Independent Artists and the Salons of America. She exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Ogunquit Art Colony, Portland Museum of Art, and the Society of Independent Artists and the Salons of America.
