Description
Joseph James Akston (American, 1898-1983). A collection of seven (7) limited edition bronze statues. Produced 1978. A herd of abstract allegorical animal wildlife figures depicting unicorns, produced in a Brutalist style. Each having impressed artist signature to verso AKSTON and dated 1978 with limited edition number; one being numbered "1/100." Presented on rectangular carved wood bases. Accompanied by original book "Akston: 25 Creative Years," by Gordon Brown, published circa 1972 by the Norton Gallery (Palm Beach) (96 pp., soft cover). Provenance: Acquired from the artist's estate.

Dimensions: 15 X 4.5 X 2.5 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having normal age related surface wear with patina. Estate fresh to the market.
