Description
Sam Newton (American, born 1948). An original oil painting on upson board. A Florida Highwayman marsh wetlands landscape depicting a central winding waterway with mangroves, palm trees, and other flora, water birds wading and in flight, and a lavender, orange, and cream sunset. Artist signature to lower right S NEWTON. The artist and his associated Florida Highwaymen artists were followers of the Indian River School and its founder, Albert "Beanie" Backus (1906-1990). Presented in a rustic wood frame.
Work Size: 24 x 36 in.
Dimensions: 27 X 39 X 2 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having moderate age related surface wear to board. Frame having moderate wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
