FIVE PORCELAIN AND ENAMELED GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES INCLUDING GUYUE XUAN
Chinese, 20th century, various materials. Including:
1. Enameled porcelain bottle of European scene with slightly everted and rolled gold painted lip over lingzhi neck, contouring to a slightly ovoid bottle of green ground with raised Indian lotus mold. Two oval panels of a boy and girl are very favorably enameled and promoted by conical foot rim of meandering circumference. The underside having a four character incised Qianlong reign mark in gold; probably original stopper, absent spoon.
2. Enameled glass bottle with delicately handled chicks watched by their hen with a background of florals sprouting from rocky masses, the cylindrical bottle elevated on circular foot rim.
3. Enameled glass bottle of "Three Abundances" in dark amber favorably enameled with thick glaze peaches, pomegranates, and citron inside a tightly woven basket; the underside with three-character Guyue Xuan (Ancient Moon Pavilion) mark.
4. A glass bottle of mustard ground, very finely painted with blossoming cherry branches; three-character red Guyue Xuan (Ancient Moon Pavilion) mark to underside; turquoise cabochon metal stopper and spoon.
5. Porcelain bottle with sixteen sanguine bats with thirteen coins over a white ground; underside with red Guyue Xuan (Ancient Moon Pavilion) three-character mark; amber glass stopper.
Tallest bottle: 2 1/2 in. (6.35 cm.), with stopper: 2 7/8 in. (7.30 cm.); total 274 grams
