Canadian. Ca: 1900. Pine, iron, lead, galvanized metal. Carefully crafted "pertpetual motion" machine consisting of a wooden frame supporting a central rotating hub with fourteen arms radiating from the hub. Each arm weights slides in and out to create motion and when at the top pops in again to create, in theory, perpetual motion. No successful perpetual motion machine exists. Very intact. Central hub replaced by Gordon Cheney, comes with original damaged hub. From the Catherine Thuro Collection. 34"H x 28.5"W x 12"D.
